London SciTech Challenges is about supporting collaboration between business and academia in London.
Participation Criteria
To participate, a business must be based in London and be:
- Set up as a sole trader, partnership, limited company or community interest company
- Have been established for a minimum of 3 months
- Have an idea which is their own and which they want to develop
Responding to a Challenge
There are two ways to take part in London SciTech Challenges:
- Submit an idea through this website for the chance to meet with academics to explore collaborative research and development opportunities.
- Respond to on of the 12 Challenges by collaborating with any academic institution and submit the results of this work to London SciTech Challenges by 14 December 2008 to enter your idea/innovation into the project's showcase/exhibition.
To be considered for the London SciTech Challenges showcase/exhibition, an idea/innovation must be developed collaboratively by a business and an academic institution based in London.
The Process
- If you submit an idea via this website, you will receive an e-mail confirming details of your submission.
- London SciTech Challenges will then show your submission to one or more of the relevant participating Academic Partners.
- If the Academic Partner(s) express interest, you can meet them to discuss your idea and potential collaborative activities.
Privacy and Confidentiality
London SciTech Challenges will not share any contact details captured on this website with third parties.
Any idea submitted through this website or entered for the exhibition/showcase will be treated in the strictest confidence.
London SciTech Challenges will share ideas submitted with relevant Academic Partners and, when appropriate, other participating organisations listed on this website.
London SciTech Challenges accepts no responsibility for commercial agreements made between participating businesses and Academic Partners.
London SciTech Challenges recommends you take reasonable measures to protect your intellectual property, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and seeking legal advice where appropriate.
Disclaimer
The list of Academic Partners does not represent the full range of science and technology expertise in London's academic base.
There is no guarantee that your idea will be matched with an Academic Partner or that any meetings with participating institutions will result in collaborative activity.
The ideas/innovations chosen for the showcase and exhibition activites will be selected by the London SciTech Challenges team and the project's Champions, Academic Partners and Supporters.
